to the WebTV home page

the following:
· Server Address: irc.starchat.net

WebTv
has many limitations over users who chat with computer chat software.
WebServ allows you to use most, but not all of the Services
commands for StarChat. You must have a registered nick in order
to use WebServ, NickServ, ChanServ or MemoServ on the StarChat
network.
|
To
Register Your Nick on StarChat
|
| Command |
/msg
webserv register [email address] [password] |
| Example |
/msg
webserv register star@webtv.net tw1nkl3 |
Once
you have registered your nick, you will need to check your email
and retrieve the activation code. This random set of numbers is
sent to the email address you specify. You must activate your
nick by using these numbers before you can use any of the other
commands on StarChat.
|
To
Activate Your Nick on StarChat
|
| Command |
/msg
webserv activate [numbers] |
| Example |
/msg
webserv activate 1234567890 |
Upon
activation, you will be given access to WebServ, NickServ, ChanServ
and MemoServ on StarChat. To see what commands are available to
you as a WebTv user, use the following:
|
To
View A Services Help File on StarChat
|

Here
is a list of things you CANNOT do with WebTv:
- Be
in more than one channel at a time.
- Change
text style, size or color.
- Play
or hear sound files.
- Transfer
files, also called DCC (Direct Client Communication).
Even
with all of it's limitations, WebTv can be used on StarChat for
an enjoyable chatting experience. Should you have any questions,
please visit the #starchat channel (/join starchat) and ask to
speak with an IRC Operator. Take a moment while you're here to
also check out a complete list of all the Services
help files available to you as a WebTv user.
